Random people, not random matching
Chatw puts everyone who is online in the same room. You never know who will be there or what they will say. That is the random part. The difference is that you are not thrown at one stranger at a time: you see everyone and you choose.
There is no match button and no skip button. You read the room, answer what interests you, and leave a conversation whenever you want.
Start in a few seconds
Open chatw.org, confirm you are 18 or older, pick a name and a gender tag, and you are in. There is no email, no phone number and no download.
Before your first message, tap the emoji that matches a picture and drag a ball into a circle. You only do it once. It keeps spam scripts out.
Say hi in the room, or answer something someone just said. To talk one to one, click a name and send a private message.
Ways to meet someone new
Read the room and reply to a message that catches your eye. Mention someone by name so they get a notice.
Open the people list to see who is online right now. Or use Find people, which searches everyone seen in the last 7 days by name, gender and age, with people who are online shown first. On a computer, press K to open it.
Pick the kind of people you want
The people list can filter by gender and by age. Tap Voice verified only or Human only to see people who passed those checks. Country flags in the list show where people say they are from.
Check the profile before you trust the tag
Random chat is where fakes do best, so take a few seconds. Open a profile to see the person's pictures, bio and badges.
The profile can also show whether the person joined today, whether they have a registered account, and whether their voice is verified. If someone changed their gender tag in the last week, the profile says so.
In a private chat you can ask the other person for a voice check, once. They read a random phrase out loud, live, and it is up to them to agree.
When it gets weird
Random chat attracts some strange people. Block anyone with one tap, report a message to our staff, and set private messages to by-request so strangers can send only one line until you accept.
Be careful with anyone who asks you to move to another app straight away. That is a common spam trick, and the site watches for messages that push outside contact details.
Do not share your phone number, address or bank details with someone you just met, and never send money.
When a random chat goes well
Tap Add friend on their profile to save them, so you can find them again. You can keep up to 50 friends, and your friends list shows who is online.
Send pictures, GIFs and voice notes. Make a voice call from a private chat. Start a group chat with people you get along with.

Can I filter who I talk to?
Yes. The people list filters by gender and age, and Human only shows people our staff checked are real.
Is it only for adults?
Yes. Everyone must be 18 or older.
Is there a button that matches me with a random person?
No. Everyone online is in the same room, and you choose who to talk to. Click a name to send a private message.
How do I spot a fake profile?
Open the profile. Look for the voice check, Verified photo and HUMAN badges, and check whether the person joined today or changed their gender tag recently.
Can I find someone I talked to yesterday?
Yes. Find people searches everyone seen in the last 7 days. Add people as friends to keep them.
