Chatw is an English-language chat for adults. Everyone shares the same rooms, so you can meet Americans and people from everywhere else in one place, instead of clicking through a list of state rooms that sit empty.

Pick your state
When you join, the site fills in your country from your connection, and you can change it. Pick United States, then choose your state if you want to show it. All 50 states and the District of Columbia are on the list. The state is optional.
The site never shows your city or exact location. If you would rather not say where you are, choose Somewhere else, and no flag shows next to your name.
How to find people in the US
Open the people list and look for the US flag before a name. On a computer, hold the mouse over a flag to see the full place name, such as Texas, United States. On a profile, the flag shows with the state code, like TX.
There is no country or state filter in the people list, so the flags are the way to spot people near you. Tap a name, then Message, to start a private chat.
Canada and Mexico have their own provinces and states on the list too, so people from across North America can show where they are.
Time zones
The US covers several time zones, from Eastern to Pacific, plus Alaska and Hawaii. Message times on Chatw show in your own device's clock, so you always see your local time.
Someone in California is three hours behind someone in New York. A state on your profile helps people in your part of the country find you.
Rooms for every mood
The NSFW room is the main adult room. The SFW room keeps things clean. The Suggestions room is where people talk about features they want.
Start a group chat with up to 300 people, or make it public so anyone can find it. Put your state or city in a public group's name, like Texas or Chicago, and people near you can find it by searching in Find groups.
Real people, not bots
Spam bots are caught and removed. Look for the voice check, photo verification and HUMAN badges to find people who are real. Block and report anyone who bothers you.
Open a profile before you trust a tag. It can show when someone joined, whether they have a registered account, whether their voice is verified, and whether they changed their gender tag in the last week.
Safety tips
A flag or a state only shows what a person picked. It is not proof of where they live.
Do not share your address, your workplace, your phone number or money with someone you just met. Chatw is not a dating service and does not match people by location.
If someone threatens you or seems to be under 18, block them and report it. If someone is in danger right now, call 911.
